Our Preschool Classes

The Blossoming Cherries staff members are the heart of our school. They are committed to their individual and collective professional growth and they collaborate with each other in order to deliver a seamless and integrated program. Our teachers are skilled in providing creative learning areas that are flexible and stimulating and captivating to a young learner.

Acorn class

Daycare for years 2-3

This is for our youngest children. The group is in a separate comfortable home environment and is fun, caring, and nurturing.

Children engage in theme based creative learning activities which are thoughtfully prepared inside and outside the classroom.

All activities are intentional and planned to offer early years’ skills including pre mathematical skills which are counting to 5, learning about shapes, storytelling activities, singing activities, creative activities as well as listening skills.

Dolphin class

Playgroup for years 3-4

This is a gentle progression from the Acorn class with a stimulating themed learning environment. The children will be ready to learn letter sound recognition and letter formation through play.

They learn number recognition and formation to 10. Each child is offered a differentiated learning experience and helped to learn at their own pace.

Busy Bee Class

PP1: for years 4-5

At this level, the children continue working within the requirements of the CBC for Pre-Primary 1. They begin to form simple three letter words and learn simple sentence building skills.

They develop a strong understanding of number values up to 20 and begin to add and subtract.

Eagle Class

PP2: for years 5 -6

Children build upon the firm foundation of the early years. At this stage learning remains creative, engaging, and enjoyable for young enquiring minds.

They leave Blossoming Cherries as confident, active learners.

Primary School (Grade 1 - 3)

Grade 1-3: for years 6-8

Blossoming Cherries Primary School is committed to delivering an education that is engaging, challenging, motivating and fun. Using a holistic approach to education, children learn through stimulating and creative experiences, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring that every child's experience of school is positive and so lays the foundation for all subsequent learning.

Our lower primary school is a blend of the Kenyan Competency Based Curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade 3 catering for children aged 6- 8-year-olds. We are keen on both good academic performance and excellence in co-curricular and enrichment activities.

Initiative, curiosity and risk taking are encouraged as children begin to think for themselves and take greater responsibility for their words and actions. We place a high value on the children attaining the best they can, but also recognize that children achieve at different rates. With our small class sizes and our excellent teaching staff we are able to stretch children who are ready for more extension and provide time and support for children who need more practice and consolidation.

The curriculum is carefully structured and sequenced to enable children to build on their learning, progressively acquiring the knowledge and skills that they need for each stage of development.
